This historical Lodge was built with cedar in 1894 and operated continuously as a guesthouse for over 50 years offering charming cosy accommodation, clean mountain air, rest and complete relaxation in what used to be a small village on the Blackall Range.

 

Although very conveniently located in the heart of the village, this historic Guest House is nevertheless a secluded, flower-scented “other world” with a friendly, totally relaxed atmosphere.

 

Now fully restored to its former splendour with the interiors reminiscent of the colonial era with delicate timber fretwork, polished beech floors, antique beds and charming other selected pieces of Australian furniture.   A very generous lounge room with its log fire and a number of cosy sitting areas are reminders of times gone by together with dining room, spacious entry, a very good well placed and well used kitchen, delightful summerhouse, laundry,  ample storage, office and master suite/bed sitter on the upper level.  The upper level could also be converted into additional guest accommodation.

 

The Guesthouse comprises of 7 double bedrooms with private ensuite or bathroom, all with individual décor and home comforts.  Breakfast is served on a beautiful antique mahogany table in the lavish fine dining room or on wide open country verandah.

 

A recent addition to the propery is the fully equipped conference/training room purpose built for l management meetings, staff traing, small conferences, team-building exercises or simply a brainstorming session. 

 

 

The grounds are approximately ¾ of an acre – a very long secluded block stretching 50 metres behind the house down to a pretty creek and historic ‘old well’ the source of the towns original water supply.  The grounds are well landscaped with mature trees and flowering shrubs.  A  summer pavilion – perfect for alfresco dining, and mediterranean style pool also form part of the ambience. 

 

This property is a very well established, thriving business and well worth consideration if looking for lifestyle and income.
