New South Wales is located in the south-east part of the Australian continent and is the most populated and heavily industrialised State in Australia, with a highly urbanised population.

Sydney is the capital and is the largest city in Australia and has one of the world’s fantastic seaports and harbors.   

Natural features divide the State include seaboard and coastal lowlands, inlets, tablelands formed by the Great Dividing Range, plateau’s and mountains, fertile slopes with rich plains and flowing inland rivers and rugged areas.

New South Wales has a temperate climate.  The hottest area is in the north-west and the coldest region is the Snowy Mountains where winter frosts and snow are experienced. Rainfall varies widely around the state.
